System Upgrade Announcement: Enhancements Coming to the Online Services Portal
To continue delivering a high-quality online experience, the Information Technology Team will be implementing important system upgrades to the Online Services Portal. These changes will bring a host of improvements designed to enhance ease of use, security, and overall user satisfaction.
The system upgrade will begin August 18th at 10:00am. A follow-up announcement will go out once the upgrade has been completed.
What's New
- New Password Reset Portal – Fully integrated with Online Services Portal for seamless access.
- Instant Account Recovery – No more waiting five minutes after password changes.
- Multiple MFA Options – Enroll in various methods to ensure secure logins.
Important MFA Changes
As part of this upgrade, all existing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enrollments will be removed from user accounts. Re-enrollment will be required to continue using MFA for account security.
Text and Email One-Time Passcode (OTP) Users
- Simply re-enter your information to reactivate these options.
- Please note: Text-based codes are the least reliable due to third-party dependencies. We recommend using:
- Authenticator Apps
- Email
- Text (last resort)
Authenticator App Users
- If you use Google Authenticator or similar apps, re-registration may create duplicate entries.
- Using the wrong code can lock your account. To prevent this:
- Open the app
- Swipe left on the old “SCC 2FA – P0000XXXXX” entry
- Confirm deletion
New Password Reset Portal Highlights
- Reset and sign in immediately—no delays
- Get notified before password expiration (every 180 days)
- MFA is required to verify your identity during reset
- Enroll in multiple MFA options for flexibility
How to Enroll in Multiple MFA Options
- Sign in to the Online Services Portal
- Click your username in the upper-right corner and select “Edit Profile”
- Under Multi-Factor Delivery Methods, manage your OTP settings
- Register phones, emails (personal only), or a Mobile Authenticator app
- Use “Problems with this authentication option?” to switch between registered methods
